Party Season’s fast approaching & after this miserable excuse for a Summer it can’t come quick enough as far as we at Louder Than War are concerned. Last week we reported on the stellar lineup Manchester Warehouse Project’s arranged for their coming season & today it’s been Bristol In:Motion’s turn to spill the beans on what treats it’s got in store for us this Autumn / Winter.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Bristol In:Motion it’s fast becoming one of the most highly regarded of underground music brands in the world, despite the fact that this years season is only it’s third. Some of the parties & raves it’s organised over the last two years have been legendary and as regular readers will know we’ve certainly, er, raved about them in the past.
Set within a five minute walk of Temple Meads the venue’s like no other you’ve ever visited. Developed out of an old converted skatepark Motion consists of a network of warehouses with not only a unique riverside terrace but also a large cobbled terrace in front of it. Clubbers travel to Motion from miles around & if you’ve never visited before you should make an effort to get over this year.
But of course the important stuff happens neither on the cobbles nor by the side of the river but rather under the roofs of the warehouses & this year, as with every year, the organisers had promised to deliver (once again) a bigger, better, stronger & louder season of raves than ever before & as of 11am this morning, when the line-up was announced, we’ve had a chance to judge for ourselves whether or not they’ve lived up to that promise.
It seems ridiculous to try & pick a few names out those announced this morning but here goes: Jamie Jones, Four Tet, Toddla T, Lee Scratch Perry AND Mala on the same night, Netsky, Eats Everything, Public Enemy, Claude Von Stroke, Rustie, Blawan & last but not least Grimes. Phew!
So it looks like once again Bristol In:Motion haven’t let us down & we’ve got one hell of a lot of banging nights set up for us this Autumn. Just need to work on that stamina I guess. Oh, and find some $$’s from somewhere.
